Measured Multiseries and Integration

چکیده

A paper by Bruno Salvy and the author introduced measured multiseries and gave an algorithm to compute these for a large class of elementary functions, modulo a zeroequivalence method for constants. This gave a theoretical background for the Maple c © implementation that Salvy was developing at that time. The main result of the present article is an algorithm to calculate measured multiseries for integrals of the form ∫ h sinG, where h and G belong to a Hardy field, H. The process can reiterated with the resulting algebra, and also applied to solutions of a second order differential equation of a particular form.

Inorganic carbon acquisition in potentially toxic and non-toxic diatoms: the effect of pH-induced changes in seawater carbonate chemistry.

The effects of pH-induced changes in seawater carbonate chemistry on inorganic carbon (C(i)) acquisition and domoic acid (DA) production were studied in two potentially toxic diatom species, Pseudo-nitzschia multiseries and Nitzschia navis-varingica, and the non-toxic Stellarima stellaris. In vivo activities of carbonic anhydrase (CA), photosynthetic O(2) evolution and CO(2) and HCO(3)(-) uptak...

Cell-based measurements to assess physiological status of Pseudo-nitzschia multiseries, a toxic diatom.

Diatoms of the genus Pseudo-nitzschia are potentially toxic microalgae, whose blooms can trigger amnesic shellfish poisoning. The purpose of this study was to test and adapt different probes and procedures in order to assess the physiological status of Pseudo-nitzschia multiseries at the cell level using flow cytometry. To perform these analyses, probes and procedures were first optimized for c...

Feeding mechanics as the basis for differential uptake of the neurotoxin domoic acid by oysters, Crassostrea virginica, and mussels, Mytilus edulis.

The neurotoxin domoic acid (DA), produced by diatoms Pseudo-nitzschia spp., is transferred to humans via consumption of contaminated bivalves. This study examines feeding mechanisms, namely reduced filtration, pre-ingestive rejection and poor absorption, that might explain the comparatively low DA levels commonly found in oysters during toxic Pseudo-nitzschia blooms. Clearance rate (CR), absorp...

Growth, Toxin Production and Allelopathic Effects of Pseudo-nitzschia multiseries under Iron-Enriched Conditions

In order to assess the effects of Fe-enrichment on the growth and domoic acid (DA) production of the toxigenic diatom Pseudo-nitzschia multiseries, static cultures that received the addition of different iron (Fe) concentrations were maintained for 30 days. Intra- and extracellular DA concentrations were evaluated over time, and growth and chain-formation were compared to those of non-toxic dia...

Link between Domoic Acid Production and Cell Physiology after Exchange of Bacterial Communities between Toxic Pseudo-nitzschia multiseries and Non-Toxic Pseudo-nitzschia delicatissima

Bacteria are known to influence domoic acid (DA) production by Pseudo-nitzschia spp., but the link between DA production and physiology of diatoms requires more investigation. We compared a toxic P. multiseries to a non-toxic P. delicatissima, investigating links between DA production, physiological parameters, and co-occurring bacteria. Bacterial communities in cultures of both species were re...
